Our Studio was founded in 1985 by Trip Cathcart. We have employed dozens of talented artisans who create original works of art in glass, metal, and wood.
To create Beauty in our World, Value for our Customers, and Honor to God through our Artistry, Relationships, and Business Practices.
We currently design, produce, and install commissioned glass art in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and throughout the U.S. Art Glass offerings include traditional stained glass, etched and carved glass, painted and printed glass, overlay art glass, and fused and cast glass. We also design and install beautiful high quality doors, both wood and metal.
As begin our third decade in the Triangle area, our loyal customers continue to commission us to create “functional art” in their homes, offices, religious institutions, and public places. Thank you for coming back to see us, and for referring friends and family to our Studio! What a privilege to use our talents to design and build unique works of art in glass, metal, and wood that our customers and the public can use and enjoy!
Pinto Ahluwalia:
“As a team of artisans, we are eager to use our talents in our chosen profession, and appreciate every customer that entrusts us with that responsibility. We adapt each design and glass technique to the budget and design wishes of our customer. Our artisans are creating “functional art”, and our customers expect good value for their investment. Be it a large public art project or a kitchen cabinet door, our team works hard to make the customer’s experience enjoyable, and the installed project a work of art that our customer will treasure.”
With an educational and professional background in engineering and sales with art as a hobby, Pinto Ahluwalia took over the CG&D business in 2017.
The business was founded in 1985 as a one person art glass shop. It extended its product range to etched, carved, traditional leaded glass, showers, commercial glass, glass marker boards, and custom wood doors. As experienced, talented local artisans joined the team and beautiful art glass windows and doors were installed throughout the Triangle, the reputation and stature of the studio grew quickly. Today CG&D Studios is the glass studio that homeowners, corporate and institutional clients, and building and design professionals throughout the Triangle turn to as a trusted resource for products and expertise in custom glass and door solutions.
Pinto’s responsibilities include management, customer relations, and sales.
